The Ford Foundation ups fundraising game with inaugural 'Rabbit Run.'
A Joyful Start to Something Bigger: Rabbit Run 2025 Recap
On a beautiful spring morning, April 19th, 2025, the streets of Downtown Hattiesburg, Mississippi came alive with energy, purpose, and community spirit as we hosted our inaugural Rabbit Run — a 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run benefiting single parents and children of single-parent homes.
In partnership with the incredible team at Southern Prohibition Brewery, we welcomed over 130 enthusiastic runners and walkers who laced up their shoes, donned their bunny ears, and hit the pavement not just for fitness and fun — but for a cause that truly matters.
The atmosphere buzzed with music, laughter, and heartfelt moments as families, friends, and community members gathered to show their support. From the first stretch to the final cheers at the finish line, it was clear that this wasn’t just a race — it was a movement.
And the best part? Thanks to your generosity and participation, we raised enough funds to cover a full semester of tuition for one of our Build Better Scholars — a single parent working toward a brighter future through education.
This event marked a powerful beginning. We are deeply grateful for the love and support shown by the Hattiesburg community — and this is just the start.
More events are coming. More opportunities to give are on the way. Our goal is to grow our scholarship fund so we can support even more parents and children as they chase their dreams.
Together, we are building better futures — one step, one scholarship, one story at a time.
Stay tuned, stay involved, and thank you for running with us.
